PUPPY TRAINING

AWWW it's sooo cute!!!

Often when a puppy is first introduced into a new home and the new family you can expect a lot of excitement. Nerves may get to the lil' pup immediately and a puddle of joy may quickly be found. This may not only be nerves but also a sign of submission.  DON'T threaten and scold your pup here it will only make things worse.

As a puppy grows they will take verbal and visual cues on how to respond For example, a puppy is chewing on a favorite toy (or other item that is allowed) and a child approaches the lil' pup - the puppy uses the body language learned from his littermates to warn the child not to come any closer.

These warning signs may be a low, soft growl, a curled lip, raised hackles or a nip directed at the child. Teach your child to heed these warning signs. The lil' pup is showing dominance - you can and should teach respect - but teaching your child to respect the animal's signals is very important.

Often children are not able to read a puppy's body language and they may not back down or move away when the pups warning comes. After several such incidents, the puppy feels he has given enough prior warning and he bites the child. Other members of the family may not witness the earlier incidents when the puppy growled and did not bite the child. When the child finally gets bitten, the mom or dad will often say the puppy bit the child for no reason, with no previous warning and they may want to get rid of the puppy.

Teach an animal take time and patience. However, safety of the humans in the house and those who visit is the primary concern. Thus, you must teach your lil' pup to be social.

How to Teach your Dog Social Skills

Make training sessions fun for your puppy, because if you do not then the puppy will not look forward to training sessions, and will view them as a bad thing.

Invite a lot of folks and their pets to come over and play with your new puppy. This will help you dog to be able to be around new people and animals. This will also train them so that they are able to be in new surroundings without getting stressed and becoming aggressive.

Take the puppy out on the road with you when you are going out. Be sure to take it on walks, to pet stores, parks, and other places you are allowed to take a dog, so that it is use to different surroundings.

It is important that you get them use to be social in canine care setting as they have to get their nails clipped, baths, and other dog maintenance.
